We had our last visit with our midwife yesterday, which was a little late, but we still wanted to get together! (Usually Midwives only see their patients until 6 weeks old here, then you get assigned to a Plunket nurse who is also called a "well child nurse." They watch over the kids here until about 5 years of age and do regular checkups to make sure the kids are healthy. If they are ever sick or need shots--then they go to a doctor.) I am going to miss my midwife soo much!! My views and thoughts about midwives, birth, and doctors have changed so much since coming to New Zealand--it's going to be weird going back to the states that is for sure! Well, maybe not weird...but definitely different. Paxton weighed in at 12 lbs 6 oz. and is 24 inches long. So since his appt. last week he has gained a whole pound AND grew an inch. w.o.w. I know people warn you all the time that your kids grow so fast (and I've seen it in so many of my nieces and nephews!) but really, this is ridiculous! Slow down! :D Just kidding... (kindof)--it's so fun to watch him grow and learn right before my eyes!! I feel truly blessed to be able to spend every day with him!!!!
I thought  I would post that video so you guys could see him in all his cuteness (I'm pretty biased but what can I say?) AND... yeah....I'm really embarrassed about the dusty fireplace (which I didn't even know about until I watched this video)--we've had birds flying into our chimney and flapping around in all the ashes and the dust must leak out of it...stupid birds.
We took a little road trip last Saturday to Castle Hill. We had been there before when my mom was here, but I didn't go out of the car to see it due to the weather and Pax needed some foodies. Paul had the day off and it's nice to get away from the farm and the house and not feel like you have to work or do things--so we just left! It was such a beautiful day and this area is truly amazing!! Apparently the station that it's on is for sale, so, if your interested--it can be YOURS! :)
It's weird to be in April and it be Fall. We would probably normally have around similar temperatures to back home but it's been SUPER lovely out last week and this week as well! The leaves on the trees are all changing colors and is really pretty, but it's definitely not as beautiful as falls in Michigan! You don't see nearly the amount of color differences, but here the grass is still really green everywhere! We still haven't gotten a frost, and I am getting heaps of tomatoes everyday--which is nice, but I'm running out of uses for them!!
It's now officially 28 days until we leave for home--Yikes!!! I'm definitely getting excited about seeing everyone again!! Pax can't wait to come "home" too...even though he's never been there...he's still excited I can tell! Love you all!

(this is from my Mom and Paul's trip to Castle Hill but it's a better picture of what is there and how huge these boulders are!)

Hi--I'm Brttany!  I'm a follower of Christ Jesus--our only Savior, a wife to my best friend, and a mommy to the handsomest little kiwi I know! Here I will try to fill in family and friends about what is going on over here in New Zealand!

    Verse of the Week

    2 Corinthians 12:9
"But he has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him." John 3:16-17
